The Seattle Times had this to say about Jason’s endorsement by the coalition of Indivisible groups in the 8th Congressional District:
“Rittereiser received more votes in a runoff with Schrier — 58 percent to 42 percent … While not as well-established as major labor unions, environmentalist and women’s groups which typically play big roles in Democratic politics, the Indivisible activists are bringing energy akin to the conservative tea-party movement in the 2010 elections.”
This endorsement is a huge boost of momentum for Jason’s campaign, as the Indivisible members are among the most engaged and committed activists in the district. The coalition has already forced the incumbent Republican Congressman into retirement. They’ve also held Dino Rossi accountable in the press while he runs unopposed in the Republican primary, exposing his shady moderation practices on his social media sites meant to conceal overwhelming criticism from voters in the 8th.
The Indivisible endorsement is just the latest in a flood of organizations announcing their support for Jason. Twelve organizations – including five firefighters’ union locals, the Young Democrats of Washington, and the American Association for Justice – have now backed Jason’s campaign. As we saw in Pennsylvania last week, as long as we have the right candidate, Democrats can win seats that haven’t been competitive in decades. Now is the time to step up and support the candidate that will lead Democrats to victory in the 8th for the first time in history!
