Issaquah, WA – Democrat Jason Rittereiser issued the following statement today in response to the news that he received 58 percent of the vote and was endorsed by the coalition of Indivisible groups in the 8th congressional district:
“I’m deeply honored to have received the endorsement of the coalition of Indivisible groups from the 8th congressional district. These dedicated grassroots activists are working are hard every single day to resist the Trump administration’s harmful agenda, and their efforts are making a difference. That we received far more of their votes than any other candidate in both rounds of voting is a testament to the growing momentum behind our campaign.
The Indivisible voters recognized what has been true about our campaign from day one: we’re building our campaign from the grassroots in all corners of the district. We are seeing what that kind of activism can accomplish in congressional races around the country, most recently in Pennsylvania. With the help and support of Indivisible we will defeat Dino Rossi in November and turn this district blue for the first time in history.”
Jason has also been endorsed by 11 other organizations: Young Democrats of Washington, Renton Police Guild, American Association for Justice, Operating Engineers Local 612, Communication Workers of America PNW Council, International Longshoremen and Warehouse Union Local 98, Maple Valley Fire Fighers IAFF Local 3062, Eastside Fire Fighters IAFF Local 2878, East Pierce Firefighters’ IAFF Local 3520, Upper Kittitas Medic One IAFF Local 4880, and Valley Professional Fire Fighters IAFF Local 1352.
