Jason is the only Democratic candidate in the WA-08 primary to receive an Our Revolution endorsement
Issaquah, WA – Former King County Deputy Prosecutor and leading 8th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Jason Rittereiser is piling up key endorsements in the critical days before the end of the election, earning the sole endorsement of the Our Revolution Washington Berniecrat Coalition for the 8th CD race.
The OR-WABC is comprised of over two thousand members from across Washington state, supporting progressive candidates from both sides of the mountains. OR-WABC represents workers, persons with disabilities, stay-at-home parents, and grassroots activists who have organized to counteract the influence of corporate special interests trying to undermine our democracy.
“I am grateful to have earned the endorsement of the only Our Revolution affiliate to endorse in this race,” Jason said. “This election is about ensuring that our country returns to our progressive values and standing up to the special interest groups corrupting our democracy with dark money.”
Jason has earned the endorsements of both party organizations and grassroots activists alike. The Kittitas County Democrats, the coalition of Indivisible groups in the 8th Congressional District, the 5th LD Democrats, and the Young Democrats of Washington have all endorsed Jason’s campaign.
Jason has also been endorsed by three statewide labor unions, the Washington State Labor Council, the Washington State Council of Firefighters, and AFSCME Council 28 Washington Federation of State Employees. Twenty-one union locals have also endorsed Jason, including the Central Puget Sound Carpenters Local 30, Pile Drivers and Divers Local 196, Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 66, Washington Interior and Exterior Systems’ Local 41, Renton firefighters, Tacoma firefighters, Seattle firefighters, Maple Valley firefighters, East Pierce Fire & Rescue, Upper Kittitas County Medic One, the Valley Professional firefighters, the Eastside firefighters, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 598, International Union of Operating Engineers Locals 612 and 286, the Renton Police Guild, the Communication Workers of America’s Pacific Northwest Council, the ILWU Puget Sound Council, the ILWU Foremen’s Local 98, the Pierce County Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 726, and UA Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 32.
Jason is running to replace retiring incumbent Republican Dave Reichert in one of the nation’s most closely watched Congressional contests, as Washington’s 8th district could decide which party controls the House. The only candidate with roots on both sides of the mountains, Jason is the first Democrat since the district’s expansion into central Washington that independent polling shows can compete with Republicans for every vote.
