Sen. McCoy (D-38) joins over 200 elected officials, labor organizers, and community leaders in endorsing Jason.
Issaquah, WA – Former King County Deputy Prosecutor and 8th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Jason Rittereiser earned the endorsement of State Senator John McCoy, as elected officials continue to unite behind the only Democratic candidate independent polling shows can defeat Republican Dino Rossi in the general election.
“I’m endorsing Jason Rittereiser in the WA-08 primary because I know he’ll fight to defend the values I fought for in the US Air Force for 20 years,” said Senator John McCoy of the 38th Legislative District. “Jason will be a dogged advocate for the needs of Washington’s tribal nations and I trust that he will make sure we have a seat at the table when Congress makes decisions that affect our communities.”
Senator McCoy has been a vocal leader on the push for expanding broadband internet access for Washingtonians across the state. Sen. McCoy is the Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus, the Vice-Chair of the Agriculture, Water, Trade, and Economic Development Committee, and currently serves on the Rules Committee, the Natural Resource and Parks Committee.
“I’m honored to have the support of Senator McCoy in this critical race,” Jason said. “I look forward to bringing federal resources to bear on the issues Senator McCoy has been a leader on for years, especially expanding broadband internet access to every home in Washington State.”
Jason is running to replace retiring incumbent Republican Dave Reichert in one of the nation’s most closely watched Congressional contests, as Washington’s 8th district could decide which party controls the House. The only candidate with roots on both sides of the mountains, Jason is the first Democrat since the district’s expansion into central Washington that can compete with Republicans for every vote.
