Maple Valley Fire Fighters, Local 3062 say Rittereiser is the candidate in the race that best understands the concerns of first responders and working families
Issaquah, WA –Former King County Deputy Prosecutor and 8th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Jason Rittereiser announced today that he has received the endorsement of the Maple Valley Professional Fire Fighters Local 3062.
This is Rittereiser’s third significant labor endorsement, following the endorsement of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 612 in October and Renton Police Officer’s Guild in December.
P.J. Knowles, president of the Maple Valley Fire Fighters, said his members are proud to support Rittereiser, who was born and raised in Ellensburg, where his dad served as a police chief and his mom started the Children’s Museum.
“In a crowded field, Jason Rittereiser stands head and shoulders above the other candidates, because he is committed to supporting our firefighters and first responders and enhancing their ability to serve the community and save lives,” Knowles says. “Jason is the real deal. He deeply understands the issues that working families in the district face because like so many 8th District residents, he’s had to work his way up the ladder of opportunity. He’s committed to listening to the concerns of working people in Maple Valley and across the 8th Congressional District, and I know he’ll fight for us in Congress.”
“I am proud to have earned the support of these brave men and women who are willing to risk their lives to keep their neighbors and their community safe,” Rittereiser said. “This is a big boost for our campaign, and I am committed to working every day to find real solutions that improve the diverse needs of the people of this district, rather than fixating on empty rhetoric or cheap political point scoring.”
An Issaquah resident, Rittereiser currently works to protect the rights of employees, as a voice for thousands of Washingtonians who have faced discrimination in the workplace, had their wages stolen by their employers, and other workers who have faced injustice.
