This new endorsement marks the eighth union local to back Jason.
Issaquah, WA – Former King County Deputy Prosecutor and 8th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Jason Rittereiser today announced his latest endorsement from organized labor, with the East Pierce Firefighters’ IAFF Local 3520 backing his candidacy.
The support of the East Pierce Firefighters’ IAFF Local 3520 marks Jason’s eighth labor union endorsement, and fifth endorsement from a fire fighters’ local. Other endorsing union locals include the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 612, the Renton Police Guild, and the Longshoremen & Warehouse Foremen’s Local 98.
East Pierce Fire Fighters represents the uniformed personnel of East Pierce Fire & Rescue in Pierce County serving Milton, Edgewood, Sumner, Bonney Lake, Lake Tapps, Prairie Ridge, South Prairie, and Wilkeson.
“After closely examining all the candidates competing in the 8th Congressional District, Jason is the clear choice to represent the needs of working people,” Ben Paradis, President of the East Pierce Fire Fighters IAFF Local 3520, says. “With deep roots on both sides of the mountains, we believe Jason is the only candidate that understands the struggles facing working families across the district. Our members agree that Jason will be a champion for union workers and their families once he gets to Congress.”
“I am deeply humbled by the continued support from our district’s firefighters and first responders,” Jason said. “Coming from a law enforcement family, the support of those that put their lives on the line for our safety means a lot to me. I will fight every single day in Congress to make sure that our public servants that protect us have the equipment and support they need to keep us safe.”
Jason currently works to protect the rights of employees, as a voice for thousands of Washingtonians who have faced discrimination in the workplace, had their wages stolen by their employers, and other workers who have faced injustice.
