This is Jason’s ninth union endorsement and twelfth endorsement overall.
Issaquah, WA – Former King County Deputy Prosecutor and 8th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Jason Rittereiser today announced his latest endorsement from organized labor, as the Communication Workers of America PNW Council formally endorsed his campaign.
The support of the CWA PNW Council marks Jason’s ninth labor union endorsement, and twelfth endorsement overall. Other endorsing union locals include the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 612, the Renton Police Guild, the Longshoremen & Warehouse Foremen’s Local 98, and five firefighters’ IAFF locals across the district. Jason has also been endorsed by the Young Democrats of Washington, the American Association for Justice, and the coalition of all the active Indivisible groups in the district.
The Communication Workers of America PNW Council is an affiliation of CWA locals comprising over 3,000 members in Washington state, Idaho and Alaska.
“We stand in solidarity with Jason because of his strong support for union workers and their families,” Michael Schendel, President of the CWA Local 37083, says. “We believe Jason will be a staunch ally of union workers in all industries once he gets to Congress.”
“Adding the support of the CWA is a huge boost of momentum for our campaign, and I’m thrilled they’ve joined our fight to create an economy that provides jobs that pay a family wage again,” Jason said. “Our campaign continues to attract the support of union workers because they recognize the same truth that motivated me to run for Congress: working people are getting left behind while Congress caters to special interests. We have to do better for the working people of this district.”
Jason currently works to protect the rights of employees, as a voice for thousands of Washingtonians who have faced discrimination in the workplace, had their wages stolen by their employers, and other workers who have faced injustice.
